As a youth I ran around dirt fields or cycled any chance I had. Once I finished the gruelling task, well for me, of having to clean off the dirt, I would either play video games, watch ESPN, the Nat Geo channel, or read books throughout the night. When I was physically tired, I watched intently as my older brothers played sport or my Dad peddled a bicycle carrying 3 young boys as his passengers. I was hooked to exploring what the body could do. This exploration has ranged from playing, coaching, and studying organized sport to training for marathons, triathlon, hiking, outdoor adventure, and hopefully much more as there is a lifetime ahead of opportunity and interests.
I am now building this website to show those with and without similar interests that body science, the environment, and culture can be combined in a uniquely personalized way. It is important to emphasize the personalized way, as many of those before us or even our peers may not have had the same experiences or tools and skills which you can and have embraced. For example, many of us have had a coach or mentor who, while great themselves, can not quite connect the dots for you or clearly understand your movement as you yourself can. That is okay, it is not up to others, but ourselves to understand our renaissance pursuits. We strive for goals that often times are misunderstood or unfortunately not given the time and energy they deserve. I hope to share some of the stories both of which I have witnessed and was inspired by with you in hopes of furthering the pursuit of exploration and discovery through body movement.
